Mark J. Danahy, age 62 of Raynham, passed away on April 22, 2018, at Morton Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Diane (Mancinelli) Danahy.
Mark was born in Brockton, a son of the late John “Jack” and Elizabeth (Heney) Danahy. Before retirement, Mr. Danahy was employed with Norwood Hospital and previously with Boston BioMedica and with Sysco Co.
Mark was a member of TGA Nautilus, where he was affectionately known as “king of the stairmaster.” In accordance with his love of exercise, he was an avid follower of NE sports teams. An animal lover, Mark spent many years rescuing stray cats, all of which came to love him. Most of all, he was a loving and caring person who was very proud of his three children and devoted to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 29 years, Diane, and by his loving children: Mark Danahy, Jr. of Rockland, Kelley Danahy of Cambridge, and Kate Danahy of Cambridge. He was the brother of Michael Danahy of Lakeville, James Danahy of Duxbury, and Karen Danahy of Brockton. Mark was also the uncle of Christopher, Megan, Erin, Matthew, Rachael, Michael, and Mikayla.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square, along Route 138). Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.
A celebration of Mr. Danahy’s life/funeral will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10am at Calvary Chapel, 1002 Broadway, Raynham. Relatives and friends may meet directly at the church. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater, MA.
