Colleen Price-Herring, age 81 of Taunton, passed away on December 15, 2024 at Marian Manor Nursing Home. She was the former wife to the late Stephen Herring.
Born in Fall River, MA, Colleen was one of five children born to the late John “Bucky” Price and Rita Smith Price. She lost her dad at an early age and was raised at Harbor Terrace in Fall River. Colleen was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, where she was a member of the "Live Five" with her friends Diana, Judy, Carol, and Mickie. She eventually earned her Bachelor's Degree from Bridgewater State College. Her career included many accomplishments, including being a director at the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training.
She and Steve lived for many years in Bridgewater, where she was very active at St Basil's Parish. With her deep faith, Colleen showed a tremendous amount of courage and strength after suffering a stroke and dealing with aphasia.
Colleen had a great love for music, and attended many concerts at Great Woods and other venues, seeing artists such as James Taylor, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, and Liza Minnelli. She loved her time at Baker's Beach in Westport. Colleen will be remembered with great memories, and many photographs. She especially loved to be with people sharing conversation, but most of all had a great love for her grandchildren and cherished time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving son, Andrew Rys and his wife Justina of Taunton and Steve Herring, Jr. and his wife Janelle of Arlington, VA, grandmother of Carmen and Frederick Rys and Katie, Daniel, Matt and Andrew Herring. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Colleen was also the mother of the late Jeffrey Rys as well as the sister of the late Jack Price, James Price, Nan Dolber and the late Beth Manning.
Colleen's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday , December 28, 2024, at 10:00am in St. Basil Chapel, 122 Park Avenue, Bridgewater. Burial will be held privately.
