David Tweedy

David A. Tweedy, age 54 of Taunton, passed away on December 7, 2017 at Boston Medical Center.

He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Medeiros) Tweedy.

David was born in Taunton a son of the late Richard Tweedy and Sally (Paiva) LaPointe, and also step-son of the late Ernest LaPointe.

Mr. Tweedy was the owner and operator of Tweedy Steel Erectors of Taunton.

David’s main priority was providing and caring for his wife and children.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards with friends, watching sports, and in his spare time he liked going to the track.

Besides his loving wife Sharon of over 22 years, he is survived by his loving sons, Kyle and Jeffrey Tweedy both of Taunton. He was also the brother of Richard Tweedy of Stoughton, Sharon Waterman of Taunton. He was also the half-brother of Ronald LaPointe of Taunton, Donald LaPointe of Taunton, and Debra Hayes of Onset. He also had several step brothers and sisters.

A service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10 am in Seventh-Day Adventist Church 109 Winthrop St, Taunton. Interment will follow in Mayflower Cemetery, Taunton.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 14th from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. (Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the Funeral Home)

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to the American Cancer Society in David’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
