Harry R. Carey, age 87 of Raynham, passed away on December 23, 2017 at Marian Manor.
He was the beloved husband of Rita (Mattos) Carey.
Harry was born in Taunton, a son of the late James and Edna (Pike) Carey.
Before retirement, Mr. Carey was employed as the Highway Superintendent for the town of Raynham for over 20 years.
Harry proudly served his country with the Army as a Sgt. during the Korean War.
He enjoyed his summer home in Wareham, loved the ocean and was devoted to his family.
Besides his beloved wife Rita of over 65 years, he is survived by two sons, Richard Carey of Middleboro and Robert Carey of Raynham. He was the grandfather of Tyler, Krystal and Frank, he was the father of the late Paul Carey, brother of the late James and Philip Carey, Bertha Mecal and the late Ruth Almeida.
Mr. Carey’s funeral with visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 9am with a funeral service to begin at 10am in The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton. Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
