Abilio Desa

Abilio Desa, age 77 of Taunton, passed away on January 9, 2018 in Morton Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Maria Teresa (Borges Dos Santos) Desa.

Mr. Desa was born in Povoa de Luzianos, Portugal, a son of the late Henrique and Maria do Carmo (Marques) Desa.

Before retirement, Abilio was employed with Stern & Leach Co of Attleboro as a machine operator. Mr. Desa was a veteran of the Portuguese Army, he loved spending time with his family and especially his beloved grandchildren.

He also enjoyed watching his favorite soccer team, Sporting.

Besides his beloved wife Maria of over 41 years, he is survived by his loving children, Estrela Medeiros & her husband Fernando of Berkley and Anabela Leandres & her husband Danny of East Taunton. He was the brother of Antonio Desa, Conceicao Sousa, Ilda Pais, Rosa Marques all of Taunton and Adelia Marques, Aurelio Desa, Alcides Desa of Portugal.

Loving grandfather of Derek, Ashley, Cassidy and Dylan. Mr. Desa also leaves several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Abilio’s funeral will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 8:45am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (At Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 14th from 2 to 5 pm in the Silva Funeral Home
