TAUNTON- Abilio E. Amorim, age 71, of Taunton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love, comfort and care of his dear family, in the late evening hours of Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Born in Faial, Azores, Abilio was one of 4 kids born to the late Abilio De Amorim and Maria L. (Filipe) Amorim. He was raised and grew up in the Azores.
A hard working man, Abilio had a tremendous work ethic. He spent time working as an independent contractor and real estate property owner. He also traveled throughout many countries while being successful as a livestock export from the Azores.
Outside of work and in his spare time, Abilio enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends while leading by example. He loved spending his summers in his beloved homeland, Faial and spending winters in his house in Florida. He loved antiques and wearing cowboy hats. He was a very proud father and grandfather.
Abilio is survived by his cherished and proud children: Marina Amorim, Marta Amorim, Filipe Amorim, and Andreia Stallworth; his grandchildren: Sarina Matos, Kiana Rego, Dario Joseph, Chance Amorim, Marciano Stallworth and Andrew Roberts Jr. ; his brother Jose Fernando Amorim; his life partner Ana Amorim and also many friends and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Anacleto Amorim and sister, Cidália Pacheco.
Abilio’s funeral will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 7:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of his soul at 9:00am in Saint Anthony Church, School St., Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
