TAUNTON - Adelina M. (Moniz) Resendes, wife of the late John P. Resendes, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on June 28, 2010.
She was 85.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Clementina (Leite) Moniz.
She moved to the U.S. in 1967, and made Taunton her home.
She was employed by the former Frank Noone Shoe Co. of Taunton for over twenty years as a shoe repairer, retiring at age 62.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mrs. Resendes cherished her family, and loved cooking for them, especially on Sundays.
Surviving are two sons, John L. Resendes of New Bedford and Joseph L. Resendes of Los Angels, CA; a daughter, Mary C. Pereira of Taunton; three sisters, Theresa Cabral of Ontario, Canada, Conceicao Charamba and Louisa Resendes, both of Taunton; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the Jose M. Leite, Manuel Moniz and Maria Costa.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Friday, July 2nd at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
