Agostinho A. Rodrigues, age 86 of East Taunton, passed away on April 12, 2021 at his residence with his loving family by his side. he was the beloved husband of the late Idalina (Pacheco) Rodrigues. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Agostinho and Angelina (Almeida) Peixoto Before retiring Mr. Rodrigues was employed with the former Corcoran Shoe for over 25 years, and with Taunton State Hospital for over 10 years. Agostinho was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family. Mr. Rodrigues served with the Portuguese Army. He enjoyed traveling, helping his son’s, and most of all cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Mr. Rodrigues is survived by his children, Fernando S. and Agostinho S. Rodrigues and his wife Maryellen both of East Taunton, grandfather of Samantha-Jo, Sabrina-Elizabeth, Agostinho, Ana-Rose and Grace. He was the brother of Fernando Rodrigues of Portugal and Odette Moroto of RI, he was also the brother of the late Jacinto and Manuel Rodrigues. Agostinho’s funeral will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Ave, East Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 15th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. (Additional parking with full handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.)
