Alice M. (Pacheco) Gonsalves

Alice M. (Pacheco) Gonsalves, wife of the late George E. Gonsalves, died at Taunton Nursing Home on October 4, 2010.
She was 84.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Carvalho) Pacheco.
Raised and educated in Taunton, and a 1943 graduate of Taunton High School, she was employed by Gentlemen's Warehouse for many years, retiring in 1988.
Mrs. Gonsalves was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church and a member of the St. Joseph Women's Guild and the Weir Seniors.
She was an avid Red Sox fan.
Survivors include a son, George E. Gonsalves, Jr. and his wife Renee of Plymouth; a daughter, Debra Gwozdz and her husband Raymond of Taunton; a brother, James Pacheco of Taunton; five grandchildren, Alyson and Eric Gwozdz, and Daniel, Karly and Jaclyn Gonsalves; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Joseph, Antone, and Alexander Pacheco, Pal Mello, Veronica Lima, Lee Salgado, Mary Perreault, Hilda Travers and Gloria Westgate, and the sister-in-law of the late Lillian Furtado.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Friday, Oct. 8th at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 7th from 4 to 7 p.m.
