Alice (Martin) Pacheco, age 92 of Taunton, passed away on December 10, 2021 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late James Richard Pacheco.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel F. and Maria P. (Silva) Martin.
Alice had a tenure of forty-three years of employment at the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant (TMLP). Her working career came to an end with the news that she was going to become a grandmother.
Once she retired from the TMLP, her passion in life was volunteerism and giving back. She dedicated time as a teacher’s aide at Maxham and Mulcahey Elementary Schools whose focus was coaching young students on their reading skills. In addition, she was a Portuguese translator at the Taunton Council on Aging.
Alice’s hobbies in life included traveling, dining at restaurants, shopping, going to the casino, and baking delicious desserts. Above all, she most enjoyed watching her beloved Boston Bruins and spending time with family and friends.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Karen (Pacheco) Harraghy and her husband, David Harraghy, her grandson Patrick Harraghy, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church in Taunton. (Relatives and friends may meet directly at church for 9:45 AM).
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
