Alonso Miguel, Sr., age 89, passed away on November 5, 2018 at the Life Care Center in Raynham with his family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Felipe) Miguel.
Alonso was born in Faial, Azores, a son of the late Joao and Margarida (Garcia) Miguel.
Before retiring, Mr. Miguel was employed with F.B. Rogers-Sheridan as a silversmith for over 35 years. He enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and fishing. Mr. Miguel could fix anything that was broken.
He is survived by his children, David Miguel of Swansea, John Miguel of Norton, Alonso Miguel, Jr and Maria Golia both of Taunton, he also leaves many grand and great-grandchildren. Alonso was also the father of the late Terry Hochman and also the brother of 3 late brothers and 3 late sisters.
Mr. Miguel’s funeral with visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 9 am with a service to begin at 11 am in the chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
