TAUNTON - Alvin G. Souza, Jr., husband of Pamela J. (Martin) Souza of Taunton, died surrounded by his family at Rhode Island Hospital following a brief illness.
He was 56.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Alvin G. and Lucille (DeMello) Souza, Sr.
He attended Taunton schools and was a 1976 graduate of Bristol-Plymouth Regional High School.
A mechanic by trade, Al was currently employed by Mello's Garage of Taunton, where he had been working for the past several years.
He was also a self-employed DJ and an avid drummer.
In addition to his wife, Al leaves two daughters, Kristyne B. and her husband Stephen Sherman, Jr. of Taunton and Amanda K. and her husband Robert Power, III of Raynham; a sister, Brenda and her husband Robert Molden, Jr. of Taunton; four grandchildren, Brinsley and Brayson Sherman and Arianna and Aiden Power; his sister-in-law, Diane (Duarte) Souza Vieira of South Dartmouth, a niece, Jodi Bertoldo; and a nephew, Tyler Molden.
He was also the brother of the late Bruce G. Souza.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, July 28th at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 27th from 5 to 8 p.m.
