Amelia (Rosa) Luis, 95, wife of the late Antonio Garcia Luis, died at Berkshire Place, Providence, RI on Jan. 16, 2010.
Born in Fayal, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Augusto and Angelica (Furtado) Rosa.
Mrs. Luis was formerly of Taunton, and more recently Central Falls, where she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
She is a former member of St. Anthony Church in Taunton.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Luis is survived by a son, Joseph Garcia Luis of Taunton; four grandchildren; a great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Jose Augusto Rosa, Francisco Augusto Rosa, Manuel Augusto Rosa, Augusto Rosa, Madelina A. Pereira, Filomena DaRosa, Marie Silva Rosa, and Angelina Augusto DaRosa.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Jan. 22nd at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church, Taunton at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 21st from 5 to 8 p.m.
