Angelina Ferro Guerreiro

Angelina Ferro Guerreiro, 93, of Taunton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 3, 2020 at Alden Court Nursing Home, in Fairhaven, where she spent the last six years of her life after a stroke in 2014. She was the wife of the late Manuel Jose Guerreiro for 61 years. She leaves her beloved and devoted daughter, Joselina Ferro Guerreiro.

Born in Olhão, a coastal town of the Algarve region in southern Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Joaquim M. Ferro and Gertrudes Guerreiro.

Angelina worked as a button marker in the clothing manufacturing industry in New Bedford  for twenty four years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking for all occasions and cooking traditional Portuguese food. She loved to have her family united for special occasions and holidays. Mrs. Guerreiro was a very active and independent person. She lived in Durban, South Africa (1966-1969) with her late husband and daughter before coming to the United States in 1970.

In addition to her daughter Joselina, she leaves her siblings, Domingos Guerreiro M. Ferro, and his wife, M. Leonilde Assis G. Ferro (who she considered a sister) and Gertrudes G. M. Ferro Estrela, and her late husband, Armando Fernandes Estrela. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in Portugal and also the closest ones in the United States and many, many friends. Angelina was preceded in death by her siblings,  Natividade G. Ferro, Madalena G. Ferro, Joao Guerreiro M. Ferro, her late sister Ilda Ferro Granja and her husband Joao Granja; her late brothers, Manuel G. M. Ferro, and his wife Rosa Assis Ferro; Joaquim G. M. Ferro.

Angelina’s funeral service and interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery will be privately held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Silva Funeral Home, Taunton.
