Anna B. (Braga) Farias

Anna (Braga) Farias, passed away peacefully on her 101st birthday at Longmeadow of Taunton. She was the wife of Sylvano (Butch) Farias who predeceased her in 1988.  Born in Taunton to Victor and Mary (Brites) Braga, Anna was a lifelong resident of Taunton and Raynham. She was one of eight children: Joseph, Alice, Rose, Anthony and John Braga, Mary Braga Ferriera and Alveda Braga Crovello.

She is survived by her four children, Diane Sylvia of East Taunton, wife of the late Leo Sylvia, Sandra Zahr and her husband Robert of Florida, Marilyn Fielder and her husband William of Florida and Alan Farias and his wife Valerie of Florida. Other survivors include grandchildren, Cherie Sylvia Stack, Leo Sylvia Jr., Jeffrey Zahr, Kristen DelValle Hidalgo, Karen Zahr, David DelValle and Gregory Farias, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She maintained her quick wit to the delight of her family.

Anna worked for 38 years at Robertson Curtain Factory in Taunton where she was supervisor of the Custom Drapery Department. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and Holy Rosary Church, where she and her sisters were referred to by their priest as the Dolly Sisters. She spent many winters on Florida’s east coast enjoying life with dear friends, Theresa (Tess) Davis Singer and Evelyn (Evie) Davis Kirby.

Due to the coronavirus, there will be no visitation, and Mass of Christian Burial will be private.  Interment will be at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Taunton.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton.
