Anna "Bonnie" D. (Nascimento) Silva

Anna “Bonnie” D. (Nascimento) Silva, age 92 of Fairhaven, passed away on November 11, 2020 at Saint Luke's Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Philip R. Silva.

Anna was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Anna (Amaral) Nascimento.

Bonnie grew up in Fall River and spent her summers in Taunton were she met the love of her life Philip. They married on November 27, 1948 and moved to New Bedford then in later years moved to Fairhaven where she lived out the remainder of her life.

Mrs. Silva, along with her late husband Philip, were the owners of the Fairhaven Funeral Home and Silva Carrier Funeral Home. She enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, watching birds and was a volunteer at Saint Luke's Hospital. Her love of knitting led her to make dozens of hats and booties which she enjoyed delivering to the St. Luke's Maternity ward. In her younger years before marriage she was a manager in the record department at W.T. Grant.

Bonnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Her most treasured times where traveling with her beloved Philip to the Cape and New Hampshire.

Anna is survived by her loving children; Wayne P. Silva of Fairhaven, Laura Murphy of Dennisport and Glenn E. Silva and his wife Christine of Fairhaven. She was the grandmother of Molly G. Silva of Fairhaven, Matthew St. Gelais and his wife Mimi of Minnesota and the great-grandmother of Colette St. Gelais.

Visiting hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home at 80 Broadway in Taunton on Sunday, November 15 from 2 to 4 PM.

Mrs. Silva’s funeral will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 8:30 AM from The Silva Funeral Home at 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Saint Mary’s Church on Broadway in Taunton.

By request of the family interment at Saint John Cemetery, New Bedford is private.

(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)

During all services facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
