Anne H. Parente RN, age 89, beloved wife for 63 years of the late Professor Emeritus Paul J. Parente University of Mass. Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2024.
She was the devoted mother of four sons; Paul K. (Wife Margaret) Parente of Jacksonville, FL, Robert J. (Wife Natalie) Parente of Las Vegas, NV, John P. (Wife Dawn) Parente of Williamsburg, KY and David C. Parente of Williamsburg, KY. She leaves 7 grandchildren; Sarah, Shane, Sage, Raina, Koral, Roman and Lea Parente and 4 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Born in Fall River, MA, daughter of Pasquale and Lucia (Gragnani) Sarti, she lived in Swansea, MA most of her life. She was the sister of the late Yolanda Medeiros, Francis, John and Lewis Sarti.
A 1953 graduate of Durfee High School. She also graduated from the Truesdale Hospital School of Nursing and received her RN in 1956. She was communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Swansea and a member of the Truesdale Nursing Association. She was a recipient of the Bronze Pelican Award for her contributions to Catholic Scouting. Anne was a visiting nurse for the Town of Swansea for over 12 years and for Easter Seals. She greatly enjoyed wintering in Florida on Anna Mara Island with her husband for many years.
The family will observe a private ceremony at their home.
