TAUNTON - Anne (Cabral) Smith, 88, a lifelong Taunton resident, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Aug. 12, 2010.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Isabel (Nunes) Cabral.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Mrs. Smith was employed by Wedgemere Nursing Home as a nurse's aide for over 25 years until 1986, continuing to work as an Operation Head Start Foster Grandmother until recently.
An avid Red Sox fan, Mrs. Smith's favorite moments were spent in the company of her family.
Survivors include four sons, Lou Smith of Raynham, Manuel Smith of IL, and Joseph and John Smith, both of Taunton; a daughter, Jean Ann Smith of Taunton; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Betty Smith.
Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Aug. 16th at 7:30 p.m.
Calling Hours will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m., prior to the Services.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
