Ann "Nancy" M. (Mckenney) Ashcroft

Anne Marie “Nancy” (McKenney) (Poissant) Ashcroft, age 66  of North Dighton, passed away suddenly on November 10, 2022 at Saint Anne’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey Ashcroft of N. Dighton for 23 years. Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late William C. and Barbara J. (Megan) McKenney. She attended Taunton schools and graduated from Taunton High.  Before retiring, Mrs. Ashcroft was employed by Haskon, Inc., Texas Instruments and the Comm of Mass, Department of DDS Services with disadvantaged adults residents. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sisters, Naidene Doucette of Pocasset, Ma, Lisa and Paul O’Toole of Somerset, Ma and previously deceased brothers and one sister William, Ned, Paul , and Debbie McKenney. One step-son, Derek Ashcroft of N. Dighton, nieces Megan Choate and Crystal Ryan, nephews Michael and Kevin Doucette, Jay McKenney and Myles O’Toole, Mark Simpson, Derek Richards and many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Nancy was very kind, generous and she loved talking about her family. She was described most often as “so sweet”. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Johanna Ashcroft. Her favorite hobby was creating beautiful quilts by hand. Mrs. Ashcroft’s funeral will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square.) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church Spring Street, North Dighton. Her burial will be held privately. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 16th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
