RUMFORD, RI - Anthony "Donald" Costa, husband of the late Anne Marie (Schilling) Costa, died at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital on Aug. 22, 2010.
He was 85.
Born in Taunton, the son of the late Antone and Ruth (White) Costa, he moved to Rumford over 40 years ago.
Mr. Costa served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was later employed as a plant engineer by the former Kilmartin Co. in Attleboro.
A licensed fireman, he continued maintaining the building for several years after Kilmartin left.
Mr. Costa was a member of the former VFW Raposa-Knott Post 2094 of N. Dighton and the Somerset Masonic Lodge.
He leaves two sons, Anthony D. Costa, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Dighton, and Richard E. Costa and his wife Rosalie of Dighton; a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Souza and her husband Alfred of Somerset; a sister, Phyllis Zagrodny of St. Cloud, FL; five grandchildren, Anne Carvalho, Leigh Green, Anthony E., Michael and Christopher Costa; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late William and Edwin Costa.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Aug. 26th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 25th, from 4 to 7 p.m.
