Anthony Mattos, age 90 of Taunton, passed away at his residence on August 3, 2026 with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Diane (Souza) Mattos.
Born in Taunton, Tony was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Cardoza) Mattos.

He started working at Verizon (formerly New England Telephone) in 1969 and retired after 27 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, reading, attending events at Leisurewoods, watching Jeopardy, puzzles, and anything to do with American history.
Besides Diane, his beloved wife of over 58 years, he is survived by his loving children, Lynne Marie Mattos of New York and Stephen Mattos of Nebraska, his sister Cecelia Mattos of Taunton, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Manuel, Joseph, Frank, Rose and Mary Mattos.
