Antonio A. Borges, age 80 of Taunton, passed away on December 31, 2020 at Morton Hospital with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (DeMoura) Borges.

Born in Santa Maria Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Andrade) Borges.

Tony Borges was the owner and president of Babs Foundry, Inc. in Norton, MA since 1966 and was a member of the American Foundry Society. He was also a member of the Taunton Elks and a former member of the Holy Ghost Society.

Known around the rink as “Mr. Borges” he attended a countless number of ice hockey games; he especially loved to watch those that included his kids or grandkids. He also enjoyed cheering on the Boston Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox and watching NASCAR and tennis matches.  He loved playing and coaching soccer, was an avid tennis player, enjoyed boating, spending weekends at the cape house and also driving his Corvette.  Most of all he was hard working, had a great sense of humor and was a loving, caring and generous man who always had a smile on his face, devoted to his friends and family.

Besides his beloved wife Kathleen of over 59 years, he is survived by his loving children; David Borges and his wife Christine of Taunton, Dennis Borges and his wife Lynn of Berkley and Darrell Borges and his wife Shawna of Taunton, grandfather of Dana, Kylee, Brett, Brooke and Brynne. Antonio was also the brother of Zenalia Sousa of Taunton, Juliana Sousa of Raynham, Margaret Grimaldi of Taunton and brother of the late Daniel and Louis Borges.

Tio Tony was beloved by several nieces and nephews both locally and across the country.

Antonio’s funeral will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021  at 7:30 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 6th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.

(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)

During all services, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
