Antonio A. Camara was surrounded by his loving family when he peacefully passed away on April 3, 2020 at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. He was 78 years old.
Born in Santo Espirito, Santa Maria, Azores. Antonio moved to the United States in 1970 with his wife, Maria Camara, of 52 years and together they raised their two sons. He worked as a machine operator for Eureka Manufacturing Company, for 32 years and retired at the age of 62. He was a humble man and always put family first. He was very enthusiastic for all sports and always loved to laugh. Mr. Camara also enjoyed his quiet time, but most of all he loved watching his family grow.
Antonio was the son of the late Manuel J. Camara and Emilia (Andrade) Camara, of Santa Maria, Azores.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Helena Camara, son Elidio Camara, and fiancé Kristina Smith, son Daniel Camara, and his wife Helen Camara, and grandchildren, Dyana Camara, Kevin, Anna, Martha, and Sabrina, his three brothers, José & Mary Camara, of California, Joao & Eugenia Camara, and Angelo & Maria Camara, of Canada. Antonio also leaves many brothers and sisters in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will finally be reunited with his two predeceased children, Antonio Camara (1969) and Maria Camara (1976).
Antonio’s funeral service and interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery, in Taunton (Our Lady of the Rosary Section) for immediate family will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 9:30 am, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic circumstances, the family gathering is limited to 10 people. His funeral service will be streamed live on our website ( www.silvafuneralhome.com ) for those unable to attend.
