Antonio J. Carreiro, age 82 of Taunton, passed away on January 2, 2023 at Regal Care of Taunton.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dora (Lopes) Carreiro who passed away in 2018.
They shared 57 years of marriage together.
Antonio was born in Sao Miguel Azores, the son of the late Manuel and Gilda (Faria) Carreiro.
Before retirement, Mr. Carreiro was employed with Jordan’s Furniture as a Maintenance Technician. He enjoyed handywork, building, watching movies, gardening, telling stories of time spent in the Azores and reading books. He also cherished time spent with his loving family.
Antonio is survived by his children, Dario Carreiro, Carla Carreiro, and Joseph Carreiro all of Taunton, he was also the loving grandfather of 4, brother of Mario and Carlos Carreiro and brother of the late Arthur Carreiro.
Mr. Carreiro’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 8:30am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton at 10 am. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5th from 4 to 7pm. pm.
