Listen to Obituary

Antonio V. Festa, 68, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after several years of declining health.

Born in Faial da Terra, São Miguel, Portugal, he proudly served in the Portuguese Army before immigrating to the United States in the 1980s.

A former farmer in Portugal, Antonio loved his pets, gardening, tending his grapevines, and making homemade wine to share with family and friends.

In Taunton, he worked many years in construction and was a proud member of Laborers’ Local Union 876.

Though he often carried a rough, hardworking exterior, those close to him knew the kindness that defined his true nature.

Antonio was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brigida, who passed away in 2020.

He is survived by his son, Anthony, and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth.

He took great pride in his family and leaves behind many cherished loved ones and friends across Portugal, Canada, and the United States.

Antonio will be remembered for his strength and devotion to his family and heritage. His memory will carry on in the gardens he tended, the wine he made, and the love he shared with all who knew him.

Mr. Festa’s funeral with visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony Church in Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
