Antonio Sousa, age 88 of Taunton, passed away on April 15, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Helena (Sousa) Sousa.
Antonio was born in Santa Maria, the son of the late Jose de Sousa Braga and Maria (Resendes) Almada.
Before his retirement, Mr. Sousa was a finish carpenter and a dye craftsman. He was also a poet who published two books. He was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family
Besides his beloved wife Helena of over 60 years, he is survived by his loving children; Joseph Sousa of Raynham, Maria De Sousa of FL, Zenalia Chaves and Nelia Barros both of Taunton. Grandfather of 11, Great-Grandfather of 2. He was also the brother of Manuel Braga, John Braga, Agostinho Braga, Deolinda Amaral, Helena Braga, Filomenia Freitas, Celeste Freitas, and brother of the late Jose Sousa and Maria Braga.
Private visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2020, and a private grave-side service will be held on Monday, April 20th in Saint Joseph Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
