Ariovalda M. Leal, age 69, of Taunton, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at her home in Taunton.
Born in Porto Judeu, Terceira, Azores, Ariovalda was the third of six children born to the late Francisco and Maria (Candida) Leal. She was educated and grew up in the Azores, immigrating to the United States of America in 1976.
A hardworking woman, Ariovalda worked various jobs throughout her life. She especially enjoyed working as a cook at the Taunton Eagles Restaurant, retiring in 2019. She gave back to the community by helping and cooking for the various events the Taunton Eagles hosted and sponsored through the years.
Outside of work and in her spare time, Ariovalda enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time by the water. Above all, she cherished the time spent and memories made with her devoted family.
Ariovalda is survived by her proud and cherished children: Claudia Vilas Boas and Steven Vilas-Boas and his husband Jeff Sanson; her siblings: Belta Rodrigues and her husband Carlos and Francisco Leal and his wife Donna Bernardo and Jorge Leal.
She is preceded in passing by her siblings: Jorgelina Festa and Luis Leal.
Services along with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton, will be held privately.
