Arthur P. Branquinho, age 82 of Taunton, passed away on January 21, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Cecilia (Nunes) Branquinho.
Arthur was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, and was son of the late João and Maria (Sousa) Branquinho.
Before retiring, Arthur was employed with Alden Shoe as a machine operator. He enjoyed gardening, wine making, watching hockey and soccer [especially Benfica]. He also enjoyed watching western movies.
Besides his beloved wife Cecilia of 59 years, he is also survived by his son Jorge Branquinho and wife Ivone of Hollister, California, and his daughter Nelia Chaves and husband John of Taunton. He was the loving grandfather of Larry, Jamie, Devin, Arianna and her husband Troy.
He was the brother of Normanda Torres of Bridgewater, Leontina Vieira of Bridgewater, and João Branquinho of Bristol, RI. He was also brother of the late Franklin Branquinho, Manuel Branquinho, and Sizaltina Pereira.
Arthur’s funeral with visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 8am from the Silva
Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saint Anthony Church on School Street in Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
