Arthur E. Perkins, Jr., age 72 of Raynham a retired District Fire Chief of the Boston Fire Department, passed away in his residence on January 27, 2018 with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Josephine (Ritrovato) Perkins.

Arthur was born in Boston, a son of the late Arthur E. and Josephine M. (DeMole) Perkins, Sr.

Mr. Perkins served on the Boston Fire Department  for over 40 years, he first began his career in 1970  retiring in 2009 as the District Chief.

Mr. Perkins served his country with the Navy during Vietnam as a BM3 from 1964 to 1967.

Besides his beloved wife Josephine of over 50 years, he is survived by two sons: Frederick J. Perkins and wife Darby Lynne and Dennis P. Perkins and wife Maureen both of Taunton, grandfather of SSgt. Matthew P. Daly USAF, Daniel A. Perkins, Margaret R. Lowe and husband  SSgt. Aaron S. Lowe USAF and Abigail G. Perkins all of Taunton. He was the brother of Stephen Perkins and wife Denise of Middleboro, Barbara Tiveault and husband Mike of Middleboro, Joanne Enos of Bridgewater, Carol Perkins of Norwood and Nancy Higgin and husband Warren of Raynham, he leaves many nieces, nephews and friends. Arthur was also the brother of the late LC Frederick J. Perkins USMC/KIA and the brother-in-law of the late Edward Enos.

Arthur’s funeral will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Mary’s Church Broadway, Taunton. Interment will be privately held.

Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1st from 4 to 8pm. (Additional parking with full handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.)
