August V. Camara, age 88 of Taunton, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at his home.
He was the beloved husband of the late Leona (Pelletier) Camara.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Chaves) Camara.
Before retiring, he was employed for 17 years with Modern Construction and 15 years with Mello Construction.
He enjoyed spending time going to the dog track and also the horse race track.
Mr. Camara is survived by his sisters; Connie Santarpia and husband Nick, Mary Souza and husband Edward, Lorraine Olson and husband Earl, brothers; Joseph Camara and wife Joyce, John Camara and wife Sandra, Edward Camara and wife Mary, grandson; Steven A. Camara, Jr., daughter -in-law Terry Camara and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Steven A. Camara, Sr., and brother of the late Manuel Camara.
Services will be held privately.
