Aurelina R. “Lina” Freitas (Medeiros) 86, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Morton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Roque T. “Rocky” Freitas.
Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Medeiros Santana and Maria Alice (Mendonca) Medeiros.
Lina worked as a nurse’s aide at Morton Hospital before retiring in 1996 and prior to that worked for Whittenton Garment Company.
She was faithful communicant of Saint Anthony Church and enjoyed visiting the local casino’s, crocheting, especially infant hats and suits for the hospital.
Lina leaves a son; Antonio M. “Tony” Freitas, and his wife, Shirley, of Northport, FL; a daughter, Tina M. Dutra, and her husband, Dana, of Berkley; a brother, Jose A. Medeiros, of Vancouver, B.C. Canada, a sister, Maria M. Freitas, of California; seven loving grandchildren, Anthony and his wife, Jeni, Adam, and his fiancé, Kelly, Samantha, Thompson, Arlina and her companion, Tyler, Rachel and her husband, Tom, and Danielle; three great grandchildren, Brayden, Allie, and Lillyanna. She was the sister of the late Eulalia Corvelo.
Her funeral with visitation will begin on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 8:00 am, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton.

Interment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
