Barbara J. (Nigl) Borgasano

Barbara J. (Nigl) Borgasano, age 73 of Raynham, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday evening, August 10, 2022, with her loving family by her side.

She was the beloved wife of Joseph G. Borgasano, Sr.

Barbara was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Vincent P. and Doris (Duffey) Nigl, Sr.  Barbara went on to graduate from Dorchester High School in 1967.  She married Joe in 1968 and became the daughter-in-law to the late Mr. and Mrs. Guy and Jean Borgasano.

Besides her beloved husband Joe of over 53 years, she is survived by her loving children; Joseph M. Borgasano, Jr. of Bridgewater and Derek J. Borgasano and his wife Cameron of Hanover. Grandmother of Gavin and Griffin.  Barbara is the sister of Ann Marie and her husband Charles Lynch, Joseph Nigl and his wife Supa, the late Vincent Nigl Jr. and his wife Ann Chella, Kathleen Garrity and her late husband Thomas, and Thomas Nigl and his wife Kathleen.   Sister-in-law to the late JoAnn and husband Fred Lohmar.  Barbara also leaves behind her nephews, niece, and great niece.

Before retiring, Mrs. Borgasano was employed with Taylor Insurance as an insurance agent, and previously worked for American Greeting cards and the town bus company while raising Joey and Derek and being very active in the community.

She enjoyed sewing, macrame, bird watching, boating, going to the casinos, and being with her family.  Nothing, however, compared to the joy she felt when spending time with her grandsons.

Barbara’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 10 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm in Saint Ann Church, Raynham. Her interment will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to: Dana Farber, the Hospice and Palliative Care program at Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association, or the American Cancer Society, in Barbara’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
