Barbara (Barlow) Callahan, age 84 of Raynham, passed away on January 8, 2021 at Boston Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of Charles A. Callahan, Sr.
Barbara was born in North Attleboro, the daughter of the late Ernest and Alice (Collins) Barlow.
Mrs. Callahan was a retired registered nurse and had worked at Paul A. Dever and Taunton State Hospital.
She was a graduate of Roger Williams Hospital School of Nursing , Bridgewater State College, and a long- time member of the Taunton YMCA
Mrs. Callahan loved being a nurse, she also loved all animals, but most of all cherished time spent with her family especially her precious grandchildren.
Besides her beloved husband Charles of over 61 years, she is survived by her loving children; Charles A. Callahan, Jr and his wife Klodiana, Michael Callahan and his wife Judy all of East Taunton and Andrea Callahan of Pelham, MA, grandmother of Tara Rice, Shannon DeLange, Michaela Callahan, Andrew Callahan, Quinton Callahan, Matthew Callahan, Maia Callahan and Max Callahan, great-grandmother of Noah, Aria and Raelyn Rice.. She was the sister of Ernest Barlow of Maryland, Ralph Barlow of RI and Priscilla Patton of IL. She was also the sister of the late Marion Shepherd.
Barbara’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 8:30 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Ave, East Taunton. Interment will follow in Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 14th from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)
During all services facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
