Beatrice (Moniz) Sa, age 96 of Raynham, passed away on December 1, 2024.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Sa, Sr.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Joseph J. Moniz and Rose Ella (Francis) Moniz.
Beatrice was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Raynham from its inception as a parish and a daily communicant after her husband retired and as a widow. She was a member of the Women of Spirit and the Seniors group that met in the Parish in her retirement years.
She was an office worker at Woolworths in Taunton and at Southern Mass Oil in that city. She also transported her daughter Karen Marie Sa (deceased) and other handicapped children to school at Nazareth Hall in Fall River.
Mrs. Sa enjoyed camping with her family and NAFCA friends and traveling the east coast with her late husband Joe. She spent two decades helping take care of her grandson Joe and granddaughter Jessica, taking them camping and on travels to visit family in Ohio and Florida. Beatrice was the matriarch of the family. She valued family and kept us all connected threw frequent visit and family gatherings. She wrote letters to her aunts and uncles around the country and when she and Joe could, used vacation time to visit these family members near and far. She love to sew, knit, crochet and craft, and parlayed some of these skills into a cottage decoupage cats consignment business. She was an avid reader and, when she became blind, an audio book listener to the end.
Beatrice is survived by her loving children, Joseph Sa, Jr and Paula Haberer, grandchildren Joseph Sa III and Jessica Dailey, great-grandchildren Joseph Dylan Sa, Merryn Rita Dailey and Cecilia Rose Dailey. Beatrice is also survived by her sister Ann Marie Grota and her nephews Robert, Allen and Steven Grota as well as many other nieces and nephews and cousins.
Her funeral with visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 7:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Saint Ann Church North Main Street, Raynham.
Interment will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Fall River.
