TAUNTON - Beatriz (Martins) Borba, wife of the late Alberto Borba, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on Oct. 16, 2015.
She was 91.
Born in Terceira Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Senhorhina de Gloria (Martins) Martins.
A resident of the area since 2001, Mrs. Borba had previously resided in New Bedford after moving from the Azores in 1980.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Borba enjoyed reading constantly and loved to tell jokes, always smiling and showering kindness on all she met.
Survivors include 3 sons, Albert Borba and his wife Rosa of Taunton, John Borba and his wife Joanna of Tennessee and Paul Borba and his wife Clotilde of New Bedford; a daughter, Mena Smith and her husband Charles of Tennessee; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Jose and Manuel Martins.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Oct. 20th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 19th from 5 to 8 p.m.
