Beatriz F. (Fernandes) Santos, age 100, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Marian Manor in Taunton. She was the devoted and loving wife to the late Leonel Santos, who passed away on November 19, 2016.
Born in Portugal, Beatriz was the one of two girls born to the late Jose Enteado and Maria Amelia Paraiso. She was raised and grew up in Portugal. In 1961, Beatriz with her children and suitcases in tow, immigrated to the United States of America, settling in Taunton.
A woman with a great work ethic, Beatriz worked for Rennie Curtain Company where she was employed as a Sewing Machine Operator. She was well liked and respected by her co-workers.
In her spare time, Beatriz had a wide variety of hobbies and interests. She loved to cook, preparing delicious meals for all to eat. She was an avid sewing enthusiast and she was known to host some of the best parties in her backyard and for Christmas and New Years. She traveled to many destinations abroad with her husband and went on many cruise trips as well. Beatriz was the definition of a “Green Thumb” as she was good at gardening and all her plants grew very well. Above all she cherished the time spent with and memories made with her dear family.
Beatriz is survived by her proud children: Tony Santos and his wife Gail of Raynham and Maria Silva and her husband Jacinto of Famalicao, Portugal; her cherished grandchildren: Matthew Santos and his wife Julie, Daryl Vieira and his wife Lynn, Michael Santos and his wife Becca, and Daniel Vieira; her great-grandchildren: Leanna, Luke, Leo, Nathan, Landon, Cole, and Camden; her son-in-law Manuel Vieira; and her extended family members and friends.
In addition to her husband, Beatriz is preceded in passing by her daughter: Fernanda Vieira who passed away on November 14, 2021 and her late sister: Gloria Fernandes
Mrs. Santos’s funeral with visitation will be held on Saturday , December 14, 2024 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of her soul at 10am in Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton.
Interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton, where Beatriz will be laid to rest with her late husband and daughter.
