Beryl (Meetis) Costa , age 81, of Mattapoisett and formerly of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Morton Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Costa who passed in 1992.
Beryl was born in Taunton, a daughter of the late Able and Veronica (LaRoche) Meetis.
Before retiring, Mrs. Costa was employed with Julius Koch Company in New Bedford for many years and also worked as a waitress. She enjoyed puzzles, knitting; going to the casino, planting flowers and gardening, sitting outside conversing with friends from the neighborhood and enjoyed spending time with her late dog Rudy. Mrs. Costa was a kind, loving and caring person who was devoted to her family and always there for everyone.
She was the loving mother of Michael Costa, and his companion Darlene, of Raynham and David Costa, and his wife, Debbie, of Fall River; grandmother of Kayla, Evan, Kyle, Michael and Chris, great-grandmother of Jas. She was also the sister of Betty Lima, and her husband Jimmy, of Wareham, Karen Viveiros, and her husband, John, of Taunton as well as several nieces and nephews.
Beryl’s funeral with visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 8:30 am with a funeral service to begin at 10:00 am, in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.
Interment will follow in Cushing Cemetery in Mattapoisett.
