Brenda M. Lema (Frates) 81, of East Taunton, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Cecile A. (Gaouette) Frates.
She worked as a school receptionist at Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School for over thirty years before retirement.
Brenda was an avid reader, especially mystery thrillers and romance genres. She went for a walk daily, enjoyed her visits to the casinos with her siblings, and most of all enjoyed and cherished the time she spent with her family.
Mrs. Lema leaves her three children, Michael F. Lema, and his wife, Melinda, of East Taunton, Marcia Lema, of Swansea, and Dana Robino, and her husband, Brian, of Auburndale, FL; two sisters, Patricia O’ Brien and Jacqueline Oliveira, both of East Taunton; ten grandchildren, Jay Lema, Cassandra Furtado, Christopher Lema, Joshua Lema, Tyler Kozma, Sarah O’Leary, Kaitlyn Veith, Karisa Robino, Madison Lema, and Trevor Robino; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and was the former spouse of Frank Lema, Jr, of Davenport, FL. Brenda was the mother of the late Douglas Lema and sister of the late Robert Frates, Lorraine Newhall and Joseph Frates.
According to her family’s wishes, all funeral services and interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery will be privately held.
