Carl Edward Dutra

Carl Edward Dutra, 94, of East Taunton, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Milton. He was the husband of the late Dora (Plummer) Dutra.

Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Wilhelmina G. (Alcorn) Dutra.

He attended Taunton Schools and served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II and was an ex P.O.W. Carl enjoyed playing cards, bowling and most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Dutra leaves his four daughters, Janis Souza, Lois Lane, and her husband, Paul, Linda Coe, and her husband, James, and Diane Wilson, and her husband, Harold; two sisters, Lorraine Costa and Thelma Tino; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Wally, Edward, Arthur, and Charles Dutra and Mildred Simpson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10:00 am, in Holy Family Church, 372 Middleboro Ave, East Taunton, MA. Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton. Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted.
