Carlos Antonio Gomes

Carlos Antonio Goncalves Gomes , 62, of Taunton, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Celestina Monteiro Gomes. They were married for 36 years.

Born in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of Valdomar and Adelaide Goncalves Gomes.

Carlos worked in sales for most of his life. His family was very important to him and enjoyed spending time with those he loved. He was also an avid soccer fan.

Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Alexandre Gomes, Carla DaRosa, Darine Gomes, and Indira Veronica Gomes Dias; eight siblings; and four grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square)

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11:00 am, in the Brazilian Catholic Church (Holy Rosary Chapel) 80 Bay Street, Taunton, MA (Relatives and friends are kindly asked to meet directly at church)

Interment will be private.
