Catherine “Kay” S. (Florence) Butler, age 81, a wonderful and caring person, passed away on Saturday morning, December 26, 2020 in her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Norman A. Butler (TFD) Ret.
Kay was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (DeSa) Florence.
Kay was a self -employed hairdresser for over 62 years , She was also a valued employee and friend of Silva Funeral Home of 58 years.
Kay was very involved with the Polish community, a member or the prayer shawl group and with the Polish Picnic committee. Kay enjoyed bingo, going to the casino and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed having lunch with all of her special friends.
Kay is survived by her loving nephew and caretaker Michael Rezendes , Sr. and his wife Melissa, a sister Barbara Rezendes and her husband Bing of Taunton, two brothers, Charles Florence and his wife Jean of Taunton and William Florence of Cape Cod. She is also survived by a great-niece and nephew Chelsey Rezendes and Michael Rezendes, Jr. Mrs. Butler was also the aunt of the late James Florence and a life- long friend of the late Janet Roza.
Mrs. Butler’s funeral will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 7:30 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 30th from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)
During all the services, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
