Celso C. Araujo, 86, of Taunton, passed away peacefully at his home on May 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Elisa C. (Bulhoes) Araujo.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he was the son of the late John M. and Auzenda (Araujo) Carvalho.
He served in the Merchant Marines and worked at the Paul A. Dever power plant and Haridite as the plant engineer. Celso loved swimming, soccer, and his family.
In addition to his wife Elisa, he leaves his three sons, Gerald Araujo, Daniel Araujo, and Stephen Araujo;a daughter, Lynnette Tavares; two brothers, Eric Araujo, and Daniel Carvalho; two sisters, Haydee DeJesus and Dilma Koutsakis; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elisa DeCena, Virginia Vieira Lopes and Alex Araujo.
Arrangements were held privately with the Silva Funeral Home of Taunton.
