Charles A. Callahan, Sr., age 89 of Raynham, passed away on January 22, 2023 at Morton Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Barlow) Callahan. Charles was born in Brockton, the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Kelly) Callahan. Before retiring, Mr. Callahan was employed with Liberty Mutual, Oce Industries and AM International as an award-winning salesman. He started his own business as The Real Estate Company. Mr. Callahan served his country with the Air Force during 1951 - 1955, serving in Alaska as a radar technician during the Korean War. He enjoyed Mario Lanza and Billy Joel music, a great meal, fishing, cards, gardening, his dogs, Boston sports, exploring mysterious places and events, and being a father, grandfather, brother, and family man. Charles was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Lorraine (Callahan) and John Papagno; his brother-in-law Richard Harris; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marion (Barlow) and Ed Shepard. Charles is survived by his loving children; Charles A. Callahan, Jr and his wife Klodiana; Michael Callahan and his wife Judy all of East Taunton, MA; and Andrea Callahan of Pelham, MA; grandfather of Tara (Joe) Rice, Shannon (Jason) DeLange, Michaela Callahan, Andrew Callahan, Quinton Callahan, Matthew Callahan, Maia Callahan and Max Callahan, great-grandfather of Noah, Aria and Raelyn Rice and Saoirse DeLange; brother of Joan (Callahan) Harris; brother-in-law of Ralph Barlow, Ernest and Chris Barlow, and Priscilla (Barlow) and Jim Patton. Mr. Callahan’s funeral will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 9:30 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Ave, East Taunton. Interment will follow in Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 29 th from 2 to 5 pm in the Silva Funeral Home. (Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)
