TAUNTON- Cheryl Carlos, age 70, of Taunton, passed away surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of family at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the devoted and loving wife for 52 years to Edwin Carlos.
Born in Taunton, she was one of seven children born to the late Francis and Shirley (White) Thomas.
A kind and caring woman, Cheryl worked in HomeCare, providing the utmost attention to those under her care. She also loved to spend time volunteering and helping others in need. She was an active volunteer with The Matthew Mission Food Pantry and she volunteered as a Teacher Assistant with the Taunton Public Schools, specifically the Mulcahy Middle School and Leddy Preschool.
In her spare time she enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and sipping on her coffee brandy.
In addition to her husband Cheryl is survived by her daughters: Tanya Bacon, Melissa Thomas, Cheryl Costa and Cathy Carlos; her grandchildren: Joshua, Lauren, Mallori and Daniel, and Brandon; her 3 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Alan Thomas and Wayne Thomas; her sisters: Joyce Correia and her husband Joseph and Donna Viveiros and her husband Bradley; her godson: Brad Viveiros, Jr.; and also numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl is preceded in passing by her grandson: Nicholas; and siblings: Jeffrey Thomas and Frances Thomas.
Cheryl's funeral will be held on Thursday , October 24, 2024 at 9:30am followed by a funeral service at 10am in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton. Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday , October 23, 2024 from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North Side of the funeral home.
