Cosmo F. Magazu, 87, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Morton Hospital. He was the husband of Diana (Barros) Magazu. They were married for 65 years.
Born in Hammonton, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Balfor) Magazu.
Mr. Magazu served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.
He owned and operated and worked as an auto body repairman at Magazu’s Auto Body on Winthrop Street in Taunton for many years.
Cosmo was active in the Elks Lodge 151 in Taunton, the Italian Social Club, and Taunton VFW David F. Adams Post 611. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox and also enjoyed gardening, yard work, and cooking, especially Italian food.
Besides his wife Diana, he is survived by his children, Kevin L. Magazu, and his wife, Charlotte, of Dighton, Gloria Harnois, and her husband, David, of Taunton, and Ernest R. Magazu, and his companion, Melissa Santos, of Taunton; three grandchildren, Erica Harnois, Madison Magazu, and Kim Ridikas; a twin brother, Damon Magazu, of Taunton; and two sisters, Anne Mascola, of Hammonton, NJ and Margaret D’Angelo, of Williamstown, NJ.
A private graveside service will be held in Saint Joseph Cemetery. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date in Saint Jude the Apostle Church, followed by a memorial committal service in the cemetery with military honors. Please check Cosmo’s obituary for updates on service dates.
