Daniel A. Bettencourt, Jr., age 68 of Taunton, passed away on May 28, 2020 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Bella (daPonte) Bettencourt.
Daniel was born in Terceira, Azores, a son of the late Daniel Bettencourt Sr., and Georgina (Narcinento-Coelho) Bettencourt.
Before retiring, Mr. Bettencourt was employed with the Taunton Housing Authority as a maintenance worker.
He loved watching his grandchildren play ball. Mr. Bettencourt was a member of Taunton Sports and enjoyed traveling, especially to Walt Disney World with his grandchildren.
Besides his beloved wife Bella, of 45 years, Daniel is survived by his loving children; Jason Bettencourt, and his wife, Michelle, of North Dighton, and Christopher Bettencourt, of Taunton; three brothers, Carlos Bettencourt, of East Taunton, Manuel Bettencourt, of Taunton and Mario Bettencourt, of Arizona; three sisters, Fatima Ferreira, of Taunton, Marylou D’Angelo, of Raynham, and Aurora Resendes, of Taunton; and three grandchildren, Logan, Cole, and Quinn; as well as many nieces and nephews.He was also the brother of the late Valdemar Bettencourt.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 8:30 am in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 am. Social distancing will be observed, please wait in your vehicle and a staff member will escort guests into the funeral home. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
