RAYNHAM - Daniel H. Cabral, 84, died at Life Care of Raynham on Monday, August 10, 2009, after a long illness.
Husband of Nancy E. (Thomas) Cabral and the late Edith (Hoye) Cabral, he was the son of the late Manuel and Palmeda (Rebell) Cabral.
Mr. Cabral was educated in Raynham schools and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII.
He was a member of the Raynham Police Department for 33 years and retired with the rank of Sergeant in 1976. He was a member of the Retired Police Association and the Marine Corps League.
Besides his wife, Mr. Cabral leaves two sons, Wilfred Cabral and Thomas Cabral of Raynham; two daughters, Jacqueline Green of East Taunton, and Corinne Pina of Raynham; two stepsons, Michael T. Souza of Medway, and Daniel J. Souza of E. Bridgewater; a sister, Ann Nardi of Raynham; and 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cabral was also the brother of the late Arthur, Joseph, George, Frank, Manuel, Wilfred and John Cabral, Meda DeMoura, Hilda Coelho, Mary Areias and Beatrice Silvia.
He was also predeceased by his son, Daniel Cabral and grandson, Nicholas Souza.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, on Friday, Aug. 14th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Ann Church, Raynham, at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 13th from 3 to 7 p.m.
