Daniel Ferrie, age 71 of Dighton, passed away on January 16, 2019 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was the companion of Sharon Enos.
Daniel was born in Dighton, the oldest son of the late Daniel and Florence (Rose) Ferrie.
Mr. Ferrie was a talented carpenter who served on the Falmouth Police department after college and later became a self-employed auctioneer. He was also a master story-teller who enjoyed sharing anecdotes, boasting about his kids and defending his New England Patriots from the slanderous media. He enjoyed working with charities and visiting with his family and friends who all appreciated how his presence lit up the room everywhere he went.
Besides his beloved companion Sharon of over 30 years, he is survived by his children; Christopher Ferrie of Dallas, GA, Traci Ferrie of East Falmouth, Bradford Ferrie of Ayer, MA, Danielle Ferrie of Cataumet, Jared Ferrie of Los Angeles, Tiffany Ferrie of Bolton, MA, Alastair Ferrie of Los Angeles, Nicholas Ferrie of Dighton and Veronica Amaral of RI. He was the grandfather of 11, great-grandfather of 4 and brother of Scott Ferrie of NC, Bonnie Root of New Bedford and was the brother of the late Jeffrey Ferrie.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 in Dighton Community Church at Noon. Burial will be held privately.
