Daniel R. Flint, age 72, of Taunton, former resident of Berkley, passed away surrounded by family on the morning of Sunday, October 13, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Brighton. He was the devoted husband to Cheryl A. (Sousa) Flint.

Born in Taunton, Daniel was one of six children born to the late Ernest R. and Silvia L. (Silva) Flint. He grew up in Berkley and attended Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School.

A proud and patriotic man, Daniel enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War Era. While in the military he was a Diesel Mechanic and he also respectfully earned his Expert Badge Rifle M-16. He was honorably discharged with the rank of SP4.

Having a knack for fixing things, Daniel worked for various local businesses in a maintenance and mechanical role, always able to complete any job.

In his spare time, Daniel had a wide array of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed tinkering around with cars and doing woodwork. He loved to go fishing and he had a special place in his heart for animals, especially dogs. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Above all, he cherished the time spent and memories made with his dear family, especially his granddaughter, who was a shining light in his life.

In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by his cherished children: Tiffany Coveney and her husband Christopher and Vanessa Charette and her husband Gregory; his doting granddaughter: Quinn McGann; his siblings: Raymond Flint, Gene “Curly” Flint and his wife Trudy, Cheryl Plogger and her husband Dennis; and also many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in passing by his siblings Bonita “Bonnie” Adler and Sylvia “Terry” Silvia.

Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

Private interment with US Army Honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
