Daniel Albert Pottier, age 50 of Assonet, passed away on October 28, 2022 at South Shore Hospital with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (DeSousa) Pottier.
Daniel was born in Taunton, the son of the late Dr. David W. and Joan C. (Osenkowski) Pottier, Sr.
Before his illness Mr. Pottier was employed with Evans Machine Co. in Brockton as a machinist.
He enjoyed race cars, hunting, gun collecting, food challenges, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He attended many car shows over the years.
He was a member of the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club.
Besides his beloved wife Jeanette of over 24 years, he is survived by his loving daughters; Topanga and Andora Pottier. Daniel is also survived by his Step-mother Janice (Arruda) Pottier of Somerset, brother of David W. Pottier, Jr of Taunton, Joanna Pottier Woodward of Fall River, step-brother Gregory Ridge and his wife Missy of Somerset, step-sister Cherie Soderbom of East Taunton, mother and father in law Lucinda and Jose DeSousa of Berkley, sister in law Rebecca Fisher and her husband Sean of Taunton and brother in law Christopher DeSousa and his wife Kelly of Raynham. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle Maryanne and Robert Dziekiewicz of Taunton and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Daniel’s funeral will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 8:30am with a service beginning at 10am in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to; Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation in Daniel’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
